Site Selection Magazine recently selected our area as one of the top 20 small communities for locating a business. If you visit for even a short time, you’ll find how many businesses and residents agree with this assessment. Nelson County covers about 423 square miles near the heart of Central Kentucky, close to I65, with the Bluegrass Parkway that provides easy access to I64 and I75. Over 40,000 people call Nelson County home and residential development attracts more homeowners each year. Our labor market pool includes over 1 million workers, but with an unemployment rate below the national average, there are plenty of business opportunities for our citizens and nearby communities.
