Cold Weather Concrete Policy
|

FOR ALL MASONRY/CONCRETE FOOTERS, FOUNDATIONS, CONCRETE SLABS AND FLATWORK
|

 |
|
When temperatures will be 32 degrees or lower within 24 hours after or at the time of materials placement, masonry/concrete must be protected against freezing for a minimum of 72 hours. Minimum protection mehtod(s) are as follows:

|
Footings:
|
straw, plastic, or thermal blankets (materials should be on site at time of footing inspection)
|
|
Foundations:
|
Thermal blankets only
|
|
Masonry/Concrete installations are prohibited if temperature is less than 20 degrees at the time of placement
|
|

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ABOVE POLICY, NO FOUNDATION INSPECTIONS WILL BE PERFORMED UNTIL 3 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF MATERIAL PLACEMENT
|
|
NOTE: Pours outside the parameters of this policy meeting the American Concrete Institute (ACI 306.1-90) will be allowed. Notification must be made to the inspector prior to the inspection and placement of concrete.
